Finding Unique Targeted Web Traffic
Let’s admit it there are so many people right now on the internet trying to make money online but don’t know exactly how to go about starting out. Millions of so called gurus and teachers are quick to sell you an EBook or course on how you’re going to make your fortune online.
The thing that many of them forget to mention that besides having a great product or service to offer to your web site buyers in order for you to have any buyers at all you are going to need to have targeted web traffic coming to your homepage day after day. If you don’t have a nice steady stream of web traffic then you won’t be making much of that nice income at all.
A big mistake that you should avoid if you are just starting out in the web traffic game is going after keywords that everyone and their grandma are chasing. For example keywords like mortgage, marketing, medical insurance, just are not going to work if you are a beginner. Leave those keywords for when you are more of an experienced internet marketer and have been in this game for a while.
What you are going to want to start off doing is going after what internet marketing people call the “long tail”. A long tail keyword is a word that people are using to search on the Internet that has three or four words. Some examples of long tails would be “Online Marketing in Germany” or “Small Bikes For Kids”. Now can you see how these above phrases may be a bit less competitive then say generic terms like “Marketing” or “Bikes”?
The reason we go after these keywords is for the reason that not many other people are usually competing on the same words because they are not searched as much and they are also very specific. Sure there are not as many people looking for long tails each month but if you find a good one you will still get pretty good targeted web traffic to your website.
If you want to start doing keyword research and finding great long tails to go after then I recommend going over to our buddy Google and using their free keyword tool. Just type “Google keyword tool” into the search engine and you will find the website address. It is free and it’s a great way to find out information and ideas on keywords that you might be able to use to increase your web traffic.
